Vi is a fictional character in the Netflix animated series Arcane, which is set in the world of the popular video game League of Legends. She is a streetwise and tough young woman who grew up in the underbelly of the city of Piltover, where she and her younger sister Jinx had to fend for themselves. Vi is a skilled fighter, using her powerful gauntlets to take down enemies and break through obstacles.
Vi is one of the main protagonists of Arcane, and her story revolves around her past and her relationship with her sister Jinx. As a child, Vi was taken in by a crime lord named Vander, who became a father figure to her and taught her how to fight. However, their relationship was complicated by the arrival of Jinx, who was also taken in by Vander but struggled to fit in with the other kids in their gang.
Vi’s story in Arcane explores themes of family, loyalty, and betrayal, as she tries to protect her sister while also coming to terms with the choices she has made in her past. She is voiced by actress Hailee Steinfeld, who also performed the song “Maybe I’m Not the One” for the series soundtrack.
