Firestorm is a superhero character from DC Comics. The mantle of Firestorm has been assumed by multiple individuals throughout the comic book series.
The original Firestorm, created by writer Gerry Conway and artist Al Milgrom, made his debut in 1978. The character is a fusion of two individuals: high school student Ronnie Raymond and Nobel Prize-winning physicist Martin Stein. When they come into contact with a nuclear accident, they merge together to form the superhero known as Firestorm.
Firestorm possesses the ability to rearrange atomic and subatomic structures, allowing him to transmute elements, manipulate matter, and generate blasts of energy. He is often depicted with a distinctive fiery aura surrounding his body.
As Firestorm, Ronnie and Martin must work together, both mentally and physically, to control their combined powers. Their unique dual existence and the dynamic between the two characters contribute to the depth and complexity of the Firestorm persona.
Over the years, the Firestorm mantle has been taken up by different individuals, each bringing their own personality and abilities to the role. These individuals include Jason Rusch, who became the second Firestorm, and others who have temporarily assumed the Firestorm powers.
