Bombur, known for his love of food and sleep, often served as comic relief during their perilous journey. Though not the most active participant in the adventure, his strength and good nature were valuable assets to the group
ere are some key things to know about Bombur:

He was one of the twelve dwarves who accompanied Thorin Oakenshield and Bilbo Baggins on their quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug.
Known for his size: He was the fattest of the dwarves, earning him the nickname “fat Bombur.” His love for food and naps was often mentioned in the narrative.
Despite his size and sleepiness, Bombur was a brave and loyal dwarf. He fought bravely in the Battle of Five Armies and remained loyal to Thorin throughout the quest.
He had two brothers who were also part of Thorin’s company: Bifur and Bofur. The three brothers were often seen together and shared a close bond.
After Smaug’s defeat and the reclaiming of the Lonely Mountain, Bombur settled back into a life of comfort and plenty. Glóin, another member of the company, later reported that Bombur “could not move himself from his couch to his chair at table, and it took six young dwarves to lift him.”
Bombur may not have been the most prominent character in “The Hobbit,” but his loveable personality and quiet strength made him a memorable part of the story. His presence added a touch of humor and warmth to the narrative, reminding readers that even in the midst of danger, there’s always room for a bit of joy and comfort.
