Venom 2099 is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is a symbiote-powered anti-hero existing in Earth-928, a dystopian alternate future of the Marvel Universe. Created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi, he first appeared in Spider-Man 2099 #1 (October 1992).

History:

In the year 2099, New York City is a dystopian megacity controlled by the megacorporation Alchemax. Kron Stone, a ruthless hitman working for Alchemax, stumbles upon a vial containing a symbiote, similar to the one that bonded with Eddie Brock in the main Marvel Universe timeline. The symbiote bonds with Stone, granting him superhuman abilities and a twisted sense of justice. As Venom 2099, Stone embarks on a mission to expose Alchemax’s corruption and fight for the oppressed citizens of New York.

Powers and Abilities:

Similar to the original Venom, Venom 2099 possesses superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to shapeshift. He can also generate webbing from the symbiote and possesses acidic blood and saliva. Additionally, the symbiote grants him a degree of enhanced senses and immunity to certain forms of attack.

Relationship with Spider-Man 2099:

Venom 2099’s initial relationship with Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, is one of antagonism. They frequently clash due to their differing methods and ideologies. However, they occasionally find themselves working together against common enemies.

Evolution of the Character:

Over the years, Venom 2099 has evolved from a villainous figure to a more anti-heroic role. He has become more willing to work with others and use his powers for good, although his methods remain brutal and unorthodox.
