Val-Zod is a fictional superhero character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is an alternate version of Superman from Earth-2 who first appeared in Earth 2 #19 (February 2014). Val-Zod was created by writer Tom Taylor and artist Nicola Scott. In this version, Val-Zod is the last Kryptonian of his universe, and was raised by Terry Sloan in a virtual reality environment until he was released as an adult by the Earth-2 Superman, who had discovered him during his own exploration of the planet’s ruins. Like his mainstream counterpart, Val-Zod possesses a range of superhuman abilities including super strength, flight, and heat vision.
