Tauriel is a fictional character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel “The Hobbit” and the film adaptation of the book by director Peter Jackson. She is not a character in the original novel, but was created specifically for the film trilogy.
Tauriel is an elf, and serves as the Captain of the Mirkwood Elven Guard. She is skilled in archery and hand-to-hand combat, and is known for her bravery and loyalty to her people. In the films, she forms a romantic relationship with the dwarf Kili, which is forbidden in elven culture.
Tauriel plays a significant role in the second and third films of the trilogy, where she aids the dwarves and other characters in their quest to defeat the dragon Smaug and reclaim the Lonely Mountain. She also helps to defend Middle-earth from the armies of the dark lord Sauron.
Tauriel has been both praised and criticized by fans of “The Hobbit” for her inclusion in the films, as she was not present in the original book and some felt that her character was unnecessary. However, others appreciated the addition of a strong female character to the story.
