Squirtle is another of the original 151 Pokémon species introduced in the Pokémon Red and Blue video games. Created by Ken Sugimori and the team at Game Freak, Squirtle is a Water-type Pokémon known as the “Tiny Turtle Pokémon.”
In appearance, Squirtle resembles a small, light-blue turtle with a long, curly tail. It has large, round eyes and a pair of small ears. As Squirtle evolves, it becomes Wartortle and eventually Blastoise, gaining a more formidable and powerful appearance.
Like Bulbasaur and Charmander, Squirtle is one of the three starter Pokémon that players could choose from at the beginning of their Pokémon journey in the first-generation games. Each starter Pokémon has its unique typing and evolutionary paths, giving players different options for their team composition.
Squirtle is known for its water-based moves, and it can shoot powerful water jets from its mouth. As it evolves into Wartortle and Blastoise, its water-based attacks become even more potent, making it a formidable opponent in battles.
Throughout the Pokémon series, Squirtle has remained a popular and beloved Pokémon, becoming an iconic symbol of the franchise. It has appeared in numerous Pokémon games, TV shows, movies, and other media adaptations, gaining a dedicated fan following over the years.
