Spider-Man 2099 is a superhero character in the Marvel Comics universe. He first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #365 in 1992 and was created by writer Peter David and artist Rick Leonardi.
The character is Miguel O’Hara, a geneticist living in a futuristic version of New York City in the year 2099. After an accident involving an experimental drug, O’Hara gains superhuman abilities similar to those of Spider-Man, including enhanced strength, agility, and spider-sense.
Unlike the original Spider-Man, who operated in the present day, Spider-Man 2099 operates in a dystopian future where corporations have replaced governments, and the poor are exploited and oppressed by the rich. Miguel becomes Spider-Man to fight against injustice and corruption in his world.
Spider-Man 2099 has appeared in several comic book series, including his own ongoing series that ran from 1992 to 1996 and a newer series that began in 2014. The character has also appeared in various video games, animated series, and other media.
