Spider-Man 2099 is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #365 in 1992. Spider-Man 2099 is Miguel O’Hara, a brilliant geneticist living in the year 2099 who, after an accident involving his own genetic experimentations, gains spider-like abilities similar to those of the original Spider-Man. He then takes on the mantle of Spider-Man and fights crime in a future New York City.
