Momoji Sohma is a fictional character from the manga and anime series “Fruits Basket” by Natsuki Takaya. He is one of the members of the Sohma family, a clan with a unique curse that causes certain members to transform into animals from the Chinese zodiac when they are hugged by someone of the opposite sex.
Momoji is the rabbit of the Chinese zodiac, and is known for his energetic and cheerful personality. He is also depicted as being quite mature for his age, and is often seen as a caretaker for the younger members of the Sohma family.
Despite his outgoing personality, Momoji also has a tragic backstory. He was born to a Japanese mother and a German father, but his mother’s family rejected her for marrying a foreigner, causing her to abandon Momoji and his father. Momoji later discovered that his mother had her memory erased of him and his father and started a new life with another man. This causes Momoji to be conflicted and sometimes struggle with his emotions.
Throughout the series, Momoji forms close relationships with several of the main characters, including Tohru Honda, the series’ protagonist. He is often seen as a source of comic relief, but his character also deals with more serious themes such as family, identity, and loss.
Momoji has become a fan favorite character in the Fruits Basket series, and is known for his cute and endearing appearance, as well as his optimistic outlook on life despite his tragic past.
