Leonardo is one of the four teenage mutant ninja turtles, fictional characters who first appeared in Mirage Studios comic book series in 1984. Leonardo is known as the tactical, courageous and disciplined leader of the group, who always tries to keep his brothers in line while fighting against their archenemy, the evil Shredder and his Foot Clan. In the original comics and various adaptations, Leonardo is characterized as a highly skilled martial artist with an affinity for Japanese culture and weaponry, specifically swords.
