John Wick is a fictional character portrayed by Keanu Reeves in a series of action-thriller films. The character was created by screenwriter Derek Kolstad and first appeared in the 2014 film “John Wick”.
John Wick is a retired hitman who returns to the criminal underworld after his wife dies and his dog, a final gift from her, is killed by a group of Russian mobsters. The character is known for his deadly proficiency in firearms and hand-to-hand combat, as well as his determination to seek revenge on those who have wronged him.
Throughout the films, John Wick is pursued by various criminal organizations, including the Russian mob, the High Table (a council of international crime bosses), and the Adjudicator (a representative of the High Table). He also forms alliances with other characters, such as the Bowery King and Sofia, in his quest for vengeance and survival.
John Wick has become a popular character among action movie fans, with his stoic and determined personality and intense action scenes earning him a dedicated following. The films have spawned two sequels, “John Wick: Chapter 2” and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum”, with a fourth installment currently in development.
