Gouken is a fictional character in the Street Fighter series of video games, created by Capcom. He made his first appearance in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, but his character was officially introduced in Street Fighter IV. Gouken is depicted as a martial arts master and the older brother of Akuma (also known as Gouki).
In the Street Fighter storyline, Gouken was initially portrayed as Ryu and Ken’s mentor, teaching them the martial art style known as Ansatsuken. However, Gouken’s teachings differed from those of his brother Akuma, as he emphasized a more balanced and disciplined approach to the fighting style.
Gouken is known for his powerful techniques and abilities, including the “Hadoken” (a projectile attack), “Shoryuken” (an uppercut move), and “Tatsumaki Senpukyaku” (a spinning kick). He also possesses a special technique called the “Shin Shoryuken,” which is an enhanced version of the Shoryuken that inflicts significant damage on opponents.
In the Street Fighter storyline, Gouken was initially believed to have been killed by Akuma during their fateful battle. However, it was later revealed that he survived and had been in seclusion, honing his skills and developing a new technique called the “Power of Nothingness.”
Gouken’s character has since appeared in various Street Fighter games, including Street Fighter V, and has become a popular and respected figure in the series’ lore. He is often depicted as a wise and stoic master who seeks to guide others and uphold the principles of honor and discipline in their martial arts training.
