Bulbasaur is a fictional creature and one of the original 151 Pokémon species introduced in the Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori and the team at Game Freak, Bulbasaur made its first appearance in the Pokémon Red and Blue video games, which were released in 1996.
Bulbasaur is known as the “Seed Pokémon” and is categorized as a dual-type Grass/Poison Pokémon. It resembles a small, quadrupedal dinosaur-like creature with blue-green skin and a large plant bulb on its back. The bulb grows as Bulbasaur evolves, eventually becoming a beautiful flower when it reaches its final evolution, Venusaur.
As a starter Pokémon in the first-generation games, players could choose Bulbasaur, along with Charmander and Squirtle, at the beginning of their journey to become a Pokémon Trainer. Each starter Pokémon has its own unique characteristics and evolutionary paths, making them iconic choices that resonate with fans worldwide.
