Thomas Wayne as Batman is associated with the storyline “Flashpoint,” which is an alternate timeline and crossover event in DC Comics. In the “Flashpoint” universe, the usual Batman, Bruce Wayne, is not the one wearing the cape and cowl.
In this alternate timeline, Thomas Wayne, the father of Bruce Wayne, takes on the mantle of Batman. The story explores a world where Bruce Wayne died in the infamous alley instead of his parents. The grief-stricken Thomas Wayne becomes a darker and more brutal version of Batman, and his wife, Martha Wayne, succumbs to madness and becomes the Joker.
“Flashpoint” was a limited series published by DC Comics in 2011, written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Andy Kubert. It was part of the larger “Flashpoint” crossover event that impacted various DC Comics titles.
In this storyline, the Flash (Barry Allen) wakes up in an altered timeline and must navigate a world on the brink of collapse. Thomas Wayne’s portrayal as Batman in “Flashpoint” added a unique twist to the traditional Batman mythos.
