Rogue is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly associated with the X-Men. She was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Michael Golden, and first appeared in Avengers Annual #10 (November 1981). Rogue is a mutant with the ability to absorb the memories, physical strength, and superpowers of anyone she touches skin-to-skin, permanently keeping the absorbed powers and memories unless she later chooses to release them. She is also known for her southern accent and tough personality, and has been both a hero and a villain throughout her comic book history.
