Mari Makinami is a character from the anime film series “Rebuild of Evangelion”, which is a retelling of the original “Neon Genesis Evangelion” anime series. Mari is a new character introduced in the second film, “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance”. She is a pilot of the Evangelion Unit-05, which is different from the other Evangelions in appearance and abilities. Mari is portrayed as a cheerful, energetic and somewhat quirky character, who loves to pilot the Eva and has a fascination with the mysterious organization known as NERV. Her backstory and motivations are largely shrouded in mystery, and she remains a somewhat enigmatic figure throughout the series.
